| Overseas students from outside the European Economic Community require a visa for entry to France. This must be applied for from their local French embassy consulate. Please note that it may take up to two months to deliver visas. |
| Social security cover for overseas students |
| French health insurance
(Sécurité Sociale) is mandatory
for all students aged under 28
on October 1st 2007 enrolled in
an institute of Higher Education.
Registration takes place on the
day students register at their
place of study. The 2007-2008
charge for this was 192 €. |
NB: French Embassies and/or local educational institutions may suggest students register with their own national health insurance programme, but registration with the French health insurance system is nonetheless required by law in all cases. The only students exempt from this are European students who hold an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) which is valid throughout their period of study. Private insurance will not be accepted as a substitute. |
| Please check when you have to start classes at ESC Rennes prior to booking your journey. |
