The academic staff of the ESC Rennes School of Business is composed of some 70 permanent faculty and over 100 adjunct faculty. Research and teaching are the central activities of faculty members and there is an intimate link between the two. Close cooperation with the business world in terms of research not only ensures that faculty are working to the leading edge of international management issues  but also enhances the quality of the teaching process and provides students on all programmes with different perspectives on business realities.

Faculty diversity reflects the global nature of the business school: the academic staff is drawn from 25 different nationalities. The common language of faculty members is English, this being the principal international business language. Over 90% of all modules over all programmes taught in the ESC Rennes School of Business are conducted in English.

Faculty members are appointed to either one of three Research and Teaching Departments or one of two Teaching Centres. Each of these departments and centres is transversely structured to encourage faculty dialogue, the pooling of expertise and the development of joint initiatives with businesses and university networks.
