 The objective of the PhD Programme is to educate participants to the level of professional researcher capable of producing new knowledge in the field of management in academia, consulting or corporate environments. This is accomplished through the process of learning how to and then completing an original piece of research of sufficient quality to be publishable in academic journals.  StructureÂ
 The degree programme entails several steps. The first year consists of the preparation of a detailed research proposal, including an oral defence of the proposed research. Candidates also are required to take coursework designed to assist in the preparation and execution of a research project. Upon successful completion of the first year, candidates conduct their research project and prepare their dissertation. This usually takes two or three years to complete. The final step is an oral defence of their research in front of a panel of qualified academics.  Profile of ParticipantsÂ

 ESC Rennes School of Business administers this degree programme for the Open University Research School. The degree awarded is therefore a British PhD and is accredited by the Open University of the United Kingdom.   AdmissionÂ
 Candidates for admission to programmes of study leading to the award of the PhD Degree must hold at least one of the following degrees or diploma:
